Our Mission is to inspire young people to broaden their world view and compete in a global economy by attending college. We enhance this experience by giving qualifying, graduating high school seniors that have been accepted into college, a $500 scholarship.

The James Shumpert Sr. Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2014 by the wife and family members of James Shumpert after his passing from Alzheimer's. James was an advocate of education and wanted to ensure his kids and grandchildren were able to pursue this goal. The family has expanded the college scholarships to other deserving high

James was an advocate of education and wanted to ensure his kids and grandchildren were able to pursue this goal. The family has expanded the college scholarships to other deserving high school graduates. To date we have given over 35 scholarships and several 8th Grade incentive awards.

Our Team
Our amazing team of volunteers, are not compensated. They spend their time creatively devising ways to raise money and connect with young people to inspire them. They spend many hours planning for the one event a year that showcases young people to support the JSSCSF mission. When you believe in something so deeply it manifests itself into existence.
